Berlin is the capital of Germany and the country's largest city. Located in northeastern Germany, it is the centre of the Berlin - Brandenburg metropolitan area.

The most popular attraction in Berlin is the Wall. The Berlin Wall was the symbol of the Cold War -an image of a divided nation. It was originally built to separate West Berlin from East Berlin and the rest of Germany. For 28 years the wall separated the country until it was dismantled in 1989.
